Vice Ganda nagpaliwanag na tungkol sa kanyang Joke sa GMA Network.

Viewers of the popular noontime variety show “It’s Showtime” were #shookt when Vice Ganda blurted out that most of GMA Network’s talents are switching to ABS-CBN. It was meant as a joke but everyone found it a bit too close to the truth. What happened?

Vice was hosting the “Ms. Q&A” segment in the “Wit Lang” part. The certain episode was aired on Monday, August 7, 2017. The comedian jokingly blurted out this particular question to one of the contestants:

“Kung sinasabing ang GMA ay ‘where you belong,’ ba’t sila naglilipatan?”

The audience laughed for a bit but Vice Ganda immediately saved himself and said, “charot lang” as a follow-up. He also issued an apology to his fellow judges at that time, Karylle and Bella Padilla.
Both were originally from GMA Network as well.

Vice’s statement was considered controversial because as of late, Aljur Abrenica and Richard Gutierrez – who are two of Kapuso’s main talents – switched to ABS-CBN.

Perhaps that was the incident the comedian may have been referring to. The issue got so blown up that Channel 7 comedian Michael V. also shared his sentiments on the matter after people have repeatedly sought Kapuso talents about their opinions.

However, Michael V. laughed off the matter. He said:
“Pero Vice Ganda is Vice Ganda rin naman. Na nakilala natin siya sa ganung style, hindi natin maiiwasang… Hindi natin siya mapipigilan kung gusto niyang magsalita ng ganun, kasi may karapatan din naman siya to express, kung papa’no yung style niya ng pagpapatawa.”

Now, in the latest report by Philippine Entertainment Portal, Vice Ganda finally explained himself and said that Filipinos naturally want those types of so-called “shady comments.”

He added:
“Naku, gustung-gusto naman ng mga tao ‘yan. ‘Yang mga shady comments, gustung-gusto nila ‘yan.”

He didn’t further explain his statement but according to the report, GMA Network executive Lilybeth Rasonable said that it was just Vice Ganda’s way of making a joke.
