Chocolate hazlenut Pralines are one of the best things to happen in life. The Hazelnut cream filling and the chocolate ganache inside can satisfy the sweet tooth of any person. But a video made by two women showed us something that won’t make us pick Ferrero anytime soon.
Rachael Vile posted pictures and videos of her and a friend unwrapping a box of the famous chocolates. As soon as she takes off the golden foil on the first one, we were greeted by a huge, squirming maggot. It was on the Ferrero and freely moving around the chocolate’s surface.
We were hoping it was just that one chocolate but every single wrapper she opened had one or more maggots. Some even fell in the brown paper lining. The two women kept shouting in disgust with every chocolate they opened and we would too if it was us.
At the end of one video, one woman was heard saying that the manufacturer would be done for. And based on the comments found on the video, the company would lose a lot of loyal customers. They couldn’t believe that maggots were found inside them. These worms could make someone sick if they ate enough.
This isn’t the only time something gross was found in the chocolates. January of this year, someone also saw maggots or fly larvae in them. Hussain Khan also took to YouTube with his disgust on finding worms on the chocolates he bought. One YouTube user by the username of darsi567 said that her daughter was about to eat these Ferrero chocolates when she saw the worms. What do you think is happening?
According to snopes.com these incidents could have been easily staged. The veracity of the claims made by these people cannot be completely verified since none of the videos start with the candy in it’s packaging with the tamper evident seals intact. Also the individual packaging for each praline can be easily opened and repacked.
