Joey de Leon nagsalita na tungkol sa biro ni Vice Ganda sa GMA Network.

“Eat Bulaga” mainstay Joey de Leon recently reacted to “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda joking about the recent influx of GMA artists transferring to the Kapamilya network. In his August 21 tweet, Joey said, “We don’t care where we belong. Ang iniintindi namin ay TO BE LONG!Or TO BE THE LONGEST!”

Joey was alluding to the fact that Eat Bulaga is the longest-running variety show in the Philippines. Joey made the comment amidst stiff competition between the two biggest networks in the country. He ended his comment by tagging the official Twitter accounts of Michael V and “Eat Bulaga.”

He twitted:

Joey followed it up by tweeting: “Wala pa pala kaming kabuhay-buhay nung lagay na yun dahil LIFE BEGINS AT 40!”

Vice Ganda is one of the most prominent hosts of “It’s Showtime” – ABS-CBN’s noontime show that is “Eat Bulaga’s” closest competitor. Back in 2015, Vice clarified that the two shows are not rivals, but only provide “alternative entertainment.”

Vice Ganda admitted that “It’s Showtime” can’t beat “Eat Bulaga’s” longevity.

Joey De Leon’s comments stemmed from a recent Miss Q & A segment on “It’s Showtime” when Vice Ganda asked a contestant a question that seemed to target their rival network. Vice Ganda joked: “Kung sinasabing ang GMA ay ‘Where you belong,’ ba’t sila naglilipatan?”

It certainly seems like a noontime variety show war is in the works! However this all plays out, we can’t help but be excited. Rivalries such as this often fuel innovation. One can only imagine what the two rival variety shows will pull off to stay a cut above the competition.
